I love to find myself surrounded by inspired people, so I try to share my own inspirational moments with the people around me as I can. When we connect in an inspirational way, a synergy happens that feels to me like we’ve been patched into the heart of creativity itself. When an idea pops out of a conversation, it feels like a gift of ‘possibility’ has arrived with a pretty ribbon attached to it. -The result in my case usually manifests in pictures, and a lot of the time, it occurs during music (often being made LIVE as I make art to accompany it.)
I make pictures for my job because it is a therapeutic drive that bypassed the word ‘hobby’ before I had learned to read. I used to draw at every minute that I had a pen, and then one day I picked up a brush and a pencil,- Later I found a wacom tablet (pen mouse w/ pressure sensitivity that operates with precision just like a brush or a pen.), – and it became my job (in order to feed my Art addiction, I had to do it all of the time to afford it as a job, and also to be able to stay limber for the next project, racing deadlines it pays to be quick. <—Which is why I am able to do Live Art when the music is playing.
Besides, the number of amazing conversations that have been had during a casual painting afternoon at a music park is often UNBELIEVABLE! People are inspired by all sorts of things that can be triggered between the music & the painterly arts. -(some people see images in my pictures that I did not intentionally put there, – but this conversation goes a long way toward further confirming things;
Concert goer; “Wow, that cool speckle stippling that you did at the bottom is awesome!
Artguy; “Dude, that’s dirt that got splattered during the rain storm last night.”
Concert goer; “Awesome.”
Nuff said. -So I know that a lot of the stuff that is seen out there is in the eye of the beholder, and I want to make it as cool as humanly possible! Not only because I love that idea, but because it’s my job.
Inspiration is contagious. Thanks for inspiring me!
